Metaphor Poem:
Life is a river
twisting and turning
winding down stream
some parts are fast
some parts of the river are shallow
and slow
some turns come up unexpectidly
some parts are easy
others not
Influential People-George Washington
I think George Washington is a very influential person for these many reasons. One way he is influential is he was a commander-in-chief durring the Revolutionary War. He led his army in many battles, and all those battles helped the colonists win the war. Washington was one of many who helped create America. Without him there may have never been an America, it may be just an expansion to England. George Washington was the first prisident of America. George is well know through out the country. He is on the 1 dollar bill, so any one could know his name.
George was born into a rich family who owned tobacco plantations and slaves. Once his brother and father died he became a soldier. He quikly made his way up to senior officer and fought in the French and Indian war. After that he became commander in chief in the revolutionary war. George was a good soldier and a good president. When George retired from being in the government he went home and freed al of his slaves.
George Washington, while preisident, tried to bring enemy factions together to unify the nation. To make the nation better George Washington added a bank system which would pay off national debt. George signed a peace that he would end wars in Europe and that the peace would last a decade. Washington is viewed in the third best presidents of the united states. George Washington is influental for these and many more reasons.

golden fog fills the air
the trees full of color like an orchard of flowers
green, white, and pink
the green grass hills with their brown strip through the middle

Too many immigrants in France, says ex-PM Fillon
The ex-French prime minister is requesting that less immigrants come to France. He wants the Canadian regulation on immigrants coming there to be used in France. The regulation states that once a year a vote will be cast on how many immigrants allowed into France. The ex prime minister wants this for unenployment in France is high and he wants it to go down. He also states that with the steady income of immigrants per year unemployment will stay high. In 2003 5.2% of Frances population was immigrants, now it is 5.8%. It is an estimated 200,000 immigrants move to France per year. The prime minister simply wants less people coming into France now until uneployment is low once more.
